Wijnaldum calls Pickford's entry to Van Dijk “stupid”

Liverpool is focused on Wednesday's game against Ajax in the Champions League, however at the 'red' club, Jordan Pickford's entry to Virgil Van Dijk continues to give people talk.

In the Merseyside derby, the Everton goalkeeper seriously injured the Liverpool center-back, who will miss most of the season after breaking the crusaders in his right knee.

The entry went unpunished as there was a prior offside, something that is outrageous in the ‘network’ environment.

This Tuesday, in the preview of the game against Ajax, Gini Wijnaldum did not hesitate to describe Pickford's entry as “stupid”.

“Of course we are upset. The way Pickford got in was completely stupid. In my opinion, they take it too far in the games we play against them (Everton).

“Everyone wants to win the derby, sometimes you go a bit too far, but it was too much, not just his entry, Richarlison on Thiago was also unpleasant. Accidents can happen in soccer. You can be unlucky and injure someone, but the way they were doing it was completely unacceptable. It makes it more difficult because they are not punished, in this case Pickford ”, claimed Wijnaldum, who this summer was close to signing for FC Barcelona.
