BARCELONA, 2 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Former commissioner José Manuel Villarejo has assured that the current president of FC Barcelona, Joan Laporta, leaked information about the club’s former president Sandro Rosell, who ended up in preventive detention for two years before being considered innocent.
“In the case of Mr. Rosell, it was Laporta who gave us that information,” he said in a face to face with the former president of the Generalitat Artur Mas broadcast this Monday by Rac1 and collected by Europa Press.
When questioned about the issue, Villarejo then said that “the people around President” Laporta were the ones who reported on Rosell, who ended up in preventive detention for two years.
“People around the president, who had fired him, I seem to remember,” he added.
Villarejo has stated that they “deceived” the judge in the Rosell case, Carmen Lamela, into believing that former President Rosell was a danger to the security of the State.
