Valencia, Dec 10 (EFE) .- Valencia, after beating Ajax 0-1 in Amsterdam, has passed for the seventh time the group stage of the Champions League, a competition in which it has participated twelve times, since its debut in 1999.
In addition, after this triumph against the Dutch team, the Valencian team goes to the knockout stages of the top European club competition as a group first, so it will play the return of this tie in its stadium.
The whole of Mestalla surpassed its first two group phases in its first two participations, in the 1999-2000 and 2000-2001 campaign, in which it advanced to the final and in which it fell against Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, respectively .
In 2003 he returned to overcome this qualifying round on the last occasion in which the competition had two phases of groups, since in the following seasons in which Valencia finished between the first two of his group, he went directly to the round of 16.
