Vagner places Metz in Europe

A goal in added time from Cape Verdean Vagner consummated Metz's comeback on Saturday at Matmut Atlantique in Bordeaux (1-2) to return, provisionally, to the European places in Ligue 1 that this weekend reaches the 27th matchday. Metz is 5th.

The set of Frederic Antonetti added their second win in a row and accentuated the crisis in Bordeaux, which already has a draw and five defeats in its last six games.

Still, it was the home side that took advantage when the Nigerian Samuel Kalu scored after a quarter of an hour.

Metz did not find a goal until the final stage. He tied in the 72nd minute through Thomas Delaine and the winning goal came in the 91st when Vagner used a pass from Thierry Ambrose to beat Benoit Costil.

Metz are 5th in the European zone, one point ahead of Lens, now moved to 6th.
