Top international cricket teams and matchups in 2020

When we look back in history, the sporting world will look at 2020 as a unique year. The coronavirus pandemic led to sporting events around the world being canceled such as the Olympics, the T20 World Cup, and many other major tournaments, leagues, and events.

A few months earlier this year, sports did make a comeback with all the major football leagues coming back and concluding their series. The IPL is also ready to make a comeback and conduct this year’s season in the UAE.

But what about international cricket? Here’s a quick look at the few upcoming international cricket matches between some of the best teams in the world:

  • Australia tour of England

With the warm-up matches already being played in the series, the Australia tour of England will start on 4th September and be a series of six matches between the two of the best cricketing sides in the world currently.

The series will contain three T20 matches and 3 ODI matches between the two sides. Currently, Australia is ranked as the best international side in the world with England being 4th.

  • India tour of Australia

Later in the series, India will play against Australia in the India tour of Australia. The entire tour will start on 11th October and end on 17th Jan 2021.

During the series, the two sides will face each other in 3 ODI matches, 3 T20 matches, and 4 test matches! Currently, India is ranked as the third-best international cricket teams globally.

This series is probably the most important one for Indians as they will get to witness the international team back in action after this year’s IPL is over. While the IPL is responsible for a huge amount of bets on highly-rated online sportsbooks and casinos like 10Cric, international matches do bring in a decent amount of traffic as well.

Status of the T20 World Cup 2020

The T20 World Cup was to be held in Australia after a gap of four years since the last edition was played in India in 2016. However, given the current climate and travel restrictions, the T20 World Cup 2020 edition was suspended too and now the tournament would be played next in 2021 in India.
