This is the agenda of Felipe VI and Doña Letizia in the week of the ten years of proclamation of the King

Up to ten acts will face the next few days king Philip VI. The 56-year-old monarch will celebrate his tenth anniversary on the throne between audiences and award ceremonies. Not so his wife, who will only accompany him on Wednesday, June 19 and Thursday, June 20, during the events strictly designed for the commemoration.

Casa Real has designed an extraordinary institutional and recreational program for such an important day, which will also feature the presence of the Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofia. Wednesday’s celebrations begin at 11 a.m. in the Royal Palace with a military parade and a royal salute from the balcony, the same one where they celebrated Don Felipe’s accession to the throne on June 19, 2014. Next, they will meet in the Hall of Columns with the President of the Government and representatives of all powers of the State to carry out the imposition of medals of the Order of Civil Merit on citizens from all over the country. After the king’s speech and a lunch, the kings will retire to rest and cancel the rest of the activities planned for the day: a concert by the Royal Guard band with the special participation of Ara Malikian in the Plaza de Oriente and the projection (at 11 p.m.) of a video mapping on the façade of the Royal Palace.

And on Thursday, the kings will attend the opening of the exhibition Felipe VI 2014-2024, composed of about 20 photographs of the monarch that cover a decade of history of the Crown of Spain. This exhibition is organized by National Heritage and the Provincial Council of Grandeza, and will be open to the public until October 20. Then, you will visit several cities in Spain.

We will not see Doña Letizia again all week. Let us remember that the queen is still recovering from a fracture in a toe on her right foot that forces her to rest and wear comfortable shoes. Felipe, however, is not ‘free’. On Monday, the monarch starts the week by attending the Cotec Annual Innovation Event, at the Caixabank Theater in Madrid, and on Tuesday he will preside over the Closing of the XXV General Staff Course of the Higher School of the Armed Forces. On Thursday, after his event with Mrs. Letizia, he will travel to Germany to attend the UEFA EURO 2024 soccer match between Spain and Italy in the evening. A lightning trip, because first thing on Friday he will be at the Zarzuela Palace to receive Carlos del Toro, Secretary of the Navy of the United States of America. That same morning, he will present the IV June 15 Prize for Constitutional Values in the Congress of Deputies.
