This Friday at 1:00 p.m. (#Vamos, Gol y as.com) The groups of the 2020-21 Europa League edition, the 50th in its history, are drawn. The four pots include twelve teams each according to their UEFA coefficient. With a total of 48 teams competing in this group stage, they will finally be divided into twelve groups of four. The big surprises of the night have been the eliminations of usual teams in European competitions such as the Copenhagen, Legia, Basel, Wolfsburg, Galatasaray and, above all, Sporting de Portugal.
Villarreal is lucky enough to avoid the great coconuts of the Europa League, but in the second drum they could play from great teams like Leicester even very complicated starts such as Dinamo Zagreb, PAOK or Red Star.
On the other hand, Real Sociedad cannot be paired with any of these but with the great favorites for the title, those of the first pot. Arsenal, Tottenham, Roma, Naples, Leverkusen or Benfica are scary.
For its part, Granada has a better chance of having the most difficult group starting from the third pot. You'll have to be very lucky to avoid a major league team from the first pot and expect some kindness from the second.
This is how the drums are:
DRUM 1: Villarreal, Arsenal, Tottenham, Roma, Naples, Bayer Leverkusen, Benfica, Sporting Braga, PSV, Gent, Celtic and CSKA Moscow.
DRUM 2: Real Sociedad, Leicester, Sparta Prague, Slavia Prague, Qarabag, Dinamo Zagreb, PAOK, Young Boys, Rapid Vienna, Ludogorets, Red Star, Standard Liege.
