The Spanish women’s water polo team debuted this Saturday at the Split 2022 Absolute European Championships with a comfortable victory (3-32) against Serbia, which allows them to start their journey on the right foot in search of revalidating their continental throne.

The team led by Miki Oca comfortably beat their rival at the Spaladium Arena in Split, the Croatian city that hosts the European Championships. A victory against the last classified, in 12th position, who played their 29th match in the competition, of which they have only won five and drawn one.

Precisely, the Serbs opened the scoring after three minutes of adjustments in the water. But the Spanish machinery began to work and the Spanish showed their offensive spirit to score six goals in the first quarter (1-6).

The superiority was evident in the water and the lead increased before the break, with a clear 3-14 in favor of the European champions. The game was decided in less than half a half, so the coach took the opportunity to rotate the players and fine-tune details for the next match against the powerful Italy.

Miki Oca’s disciples did not concede any more goals and raised the bar to score 18 points in the third and fourth set. An impressive score (3-32) for the Spanish squad, which will face the transalpines this Sunday, a duel that will have the first place in Group B at stake.
