The Superbowl couple ‘falls’: Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen begin divorce proceedings

There is no turning back. The deep crisis that the NFL athlete and the model were going through and that led the latter to leave the marital home has turned into a breakup. Two months after her separation, Tom Brady y Gisele Bündchen They have hired renowned matrimonial lawyers to start their divorce after 14 years of marriage and two children together.

The decision has surprised his close circle, since fights between them were common: “We didn’t think this would be the final one, we thought they would fix it,” a friend told Page Six. Two months ago, Brady and Bündchen had a tremendous confrontation when he decided to continue with his sports career after having promised her to leave it to focus on the family. The crisis was no secret and they themselves had talked about it: “He focuses on his career, mine is mainly on children. Relationships are not the fairy tale that people want to believe.” As he put it: “Sometimes I feel like I’m not doing my part with my family. My wife thought I was going to play soccer all season and she would have to stay home. She wasn’t happy with our marriage. It worked for me, but not for her,” he said a couple of years ago.

The model and the Buccaners player met in 2006 on a blind date and married two years later in an intimate and almost secret ceremony in the mansion they bought in Costa Rica, where she settled two months ago, after leaving the marital home in Tampa, Florida. They have two children together, Benjamin and Vivian, plus one that Brady had from a previous relationship. Named the NFL’s Best Player on several occasions, he has won three Super Bowls and his cache amounts to 20 million dollars per season. He announced his retirement in 2020, but changed his mind and returned. So up to three times. The couple’s environment affirmed that Bundchen’s patience was at the limit: “She accepted jobs because he promised to be with the children and he has not fulfilled it.”

Everything indicates that they will file for divorce in Florida, where they resided, and face a tedious process because they own a large fortune and will have to decide how to distribute it: their common properties alone reach a value of 30 million euros, between them a condo in Tribeca and a ranch in Yellowstone. Brady, the ninth highest paid athlete in the world, according to Forbes, has a net worth of 250 million euros, while Gisele, one of the most valued models of the last two decades, has about 400 million euros.
