The Paris Masters, in danger due to the curfew in France

The announcement of the Government of Emmanuel Macron to decree a curfew from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. for the next four weeks in Paris and eight other large cities in France to slow the advance of the coronavirus could have a direct impact on the Rolex Paris Masters, the Paris Masters 1,000, which is scheduled to be played from October 31 to November 8.

With the new measure of the French Executive, the tournament will not be able to have an audience in the stands (initially it was planned that 1,000 people would attend per day, as happened at Roland Garros) and may have to do modifications in their schedules and suppress night sessions that hosted the big matches of each day.

Thus the organization of the Rolex Paris Masters will have to make speculations to try to square the matches within the limits schedules established by the curfew, which would bring forward the start of the day.

If it is not possible, the tournament would be doomed to announce the cancellation of the last major tournament on the ATP calendar before the Nitto ATP Finals in London (November 15-22). On October 7, the tournament organization announced that the tournament would go ahead on the scheduled dates but it will be necessary to see if they do not change their plans after Macron's new measures.
