The Logroñés regains the smile thanks to its effectiveness

The Unión Deportiva Logroñés has managed to break the bad streak of seven consecutive games without winning, with a 2-1 victory against Mirandés, in a clash marked by the effectiveness of the Riojans, who with just three clear occasions have achieved two goals .

The state of the pitch, which was released under heavy snowfall, has hurt both teams and has led them to forget the center of the field and dedicate themselves to throwing balls up, waiting for their forwards to be efficient or that the defenses failed, something that condemned the Mirandés.

The game began with Mirandés turned on the attack, as if he wanted to decide the game soon and, in fact, Iván Martín shot the post in the first minute of play.

The aggressive departure of the Castilians upset Logroñés, who despite having a more ambitious approach than on other days, with Leo Ruiz and Ander Vitoria at the top, was slow to adapt to the game and showed many nerves behind.

But after a quarter of an hour a “rogue” action by Paulino, the best of the game, who went ahead of the defender with the toe of his boot, put Logroñés ahead in his first attack action.

The tie served to calm the Riojans for a few minutes and even had a couple of dangerous actions before half an hour of play through Olaetxea and Leo Ruiz, although neither of them finished off with success.

But, in reality, the team most focused on what it had to do was Mirandés, which after conceding the goal gradually advanced their lines and in the final stretch of the first half returned to dominate clearly and make the local defense nervous .

The Logroñés seemed, however, to breathe easy as the break approached, but in the last shot of the Mirandés, from Berrocal to the crossbar, he again had many doubts to clear and the tie achieved by Meseguer on the goal line ended.

The Mirandés jumped onto the field more timid than before and that led to a few minutes of little football and mistakes by both teams.

The most “rude” of all occurred after another center from Paulino, who reached the area and the defenders, inexplicably, let the ball dribble in front of the goal with what Ander Vitoria, who was arriving in the race, launched himself to finish off head and made it 2-1.

There was half an hour ahead and Logroñés tried to entrench themselves around their area to defend the victory and, without too many scares, they succeeded and thus won again almost a month and a half later.
