The Ironman Group prepares four ‘Artemisas’ for the Ironman of Mallorca

The ‘Artemis Women’ project claims the presence of women in Ironman tests

BARCELONA, 17 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Ironman Group is accompanying four women athletes in their preparation for the Zafiro IRONMAN 70.3 Alcúdia-Mallorca, within its new Artemis Women project that aims to help women to be part of triathlons and Ironman events, inspiring others to follow the footsteps of these first ‘Artemises’.

IRONMAN Group promotes the ‘Artemis Women Project’ to vindicate the figure and presence of women in its different tests and at the same time create audiovisual content that serves as inspiration for other women who want to dare to be ‘ironwoman’.

Thus, in the Mallorca event on May 13 of this year, these four athletes of different origins who are part of Artemis Women will participate, an initiative that helps them in their sports preparation for the Zafiro IRONMAN 70.3 in Alcúdia.

The goddess Artemis, in ancient Greece, was in charge of hunting but also of wild animals and wild and virgin places. Now, the Ironman group is inspired by the deity – who also protected women and girls – to “empower and inspire” today’s women to compete in an Ironman.

The project will allow, until the day of the race, to see first-hand the life that these four women lead on their way to completing the test, with daily challenges with the support of the Ironman group and specialized trainers in the field.

The four ‘Artemisas’ are Míriam Clos –32 years old, schoolteacher and amateur cyclist–, Eli Stampa –55 years old, 14 marathons and 2 Ironman 70.3 behind him–, Sara Argerich –30 years old, consultant and two IRONMAN 70.3, with the dream of going to the 2023 Ironman World Cup in Finland– and María Gijón –34 years old, journalist and influencer as well as a cyclist and triathlete, being third in the IRONMAN 70.3 in Barcelona 2022–.

The Zafiro IRONMAN 70.3 Alcúdia -Mallorca is a very diverse race with technical environments that are attractive as well as its turquoise waters, where the swimming test is held (1.9 kilometers), the winding roads that are traveled by bicycle (90 kilometers ) and the last stage of the foot race (marathon, 21.1 kilometres) which takes place very close to Alcúdia beach.

The objective of the Ironman Group, pursued with projects such as this Artemis Women, the 10IRONWOMEN or the accompaniment of María Salvo from its beginnings in the triathlon to the culmination of the Qatar Airways IRONMAN Barcelona, is to help women lose their fear of triathlons.
