The Berlin tournament is presented “without player parties”

Waiting for the competition to return officially, exhibition tournaments continue to take place so that tennis players recover sensations. Next week it will be the turn of Berlin, which will hold two tournaments in the same week, with the participation of stars such as Thiem, Bautista or Khachanov.

Who will not be finally will be Alexander Zverev. The German participated in the controversial Adria Tour, although he never tested positive. A week after the tournament, when he was supposed to be under quarantine, Zverev jumped back into the headlines for being seen at a party.

Precisely, the Berlin tournament does not want to repeat the mistakes of the Adria Tour. “There will be no player parties here” said Edwin Weindorfer, organizer of the 'Bett1Aces', referring to the videos where the Adria Tour players, including Djokovic, were seen in a disco. On Zverev's controversy, Weindorfer commented that “He has not made one mistake, but two.”

The Berlin exhibition tournament will follow an extensive protocol to prevent infection, based on a 59 page document approved by the German authorities. Also, ATP and WTA representatives will be in Berlin to see how the protocol works.
