The Belgian Arnaud de Lie wins the Playa de Palma-Palma Trophy

The Belgian cyclist Arnaud de Lie, from the Lotto-Soudal team, won this Sunday in the Playa de Palma-Palma Trophy, the last day of the XXXI Garden Hotels-Luxcom Challenge Ciclista Mallorca.

De Lie triumphed in the sprint in a final Mallorcan test held over 169.1 kilometers starting in s’Arenal and finishing in Palma. The Belgian beat Juan Sebastián Molano (UAE Emirates) and his compatriot Sasha Weemaes (Sport Vlaanderen-Baloise).

The escape of the day was formed from the start with the Spaniards Sergio Román Martín (Caja Rural-Seguros RGA), Xabier Mikel Azparren (Euskaltel-Euskadi), Ander Okamika (Burgos-BH) and Isaac Cantón (Manuela Fundación), who arrived at have more than six minutes.

The peloton arrived in a group at the final Palma circuit to end up disputing a massive sprint in which the 19-year-old runner won the victory.
