In the official presentation of this new edition, the tournament director, Anabel Medina, showed her satisfaction and enthusiasm for tennis to return to the city of Valencia and reported, among the various novelties this year, the alliance with Tennium, one of the largest sports companies in Europe, organizer of competitions such as the Conde de Godó Trophy in Barcelona, the ATP Argentina Open in Buenos Aires, the European Open in Belgium and the Senior Masters Cup.

“When I created an ITF women's tournament six years ago in Valencia, I did it with the idea that it would be a long-term project and today this growth is confirmed. I cannot be more grateful to BBVA, the institutions and all the sponsors who not only joined the tournament since its inception but have continued to support the growth of women's sport in Valencia, “said Medina.

Another novelty of this edition will be the support that he will receive from the Trinidad Alfonso Foundation, whose president Juan Miguel Gómez has commented that this collaboration “consolidates our vision of supporting all those events or initiatives that have a positive impact on the city Through sport. There was no better year than this to start supporting the tournament. “

David Conde, eastern territorial director of BBVA, pointed out that the project undertaken with Anabel “transcends the purely sports and has been established from its origins in line with Goal number 5 of the so-called SDGs, Sustainable Development Goals. It is a tournament conceived so that young athletes can compete with equal opportunities as men, have greater visibility and, I think something very important, become references for other young women and girls. “

In the presentation, in which the Valencian public institutions were also represented, It was reported that the U-16 tournament will be held the same week for the young tennis players to share experience with the professionals, as well as holding exhibition matches of tennis for the blind and in wheelchairs.
