The 25th Anniversary Tournament of the Ferrero Academy begins

This week will take place at the facilities of the Academy of Tenis Juan Carlos Ferrero Equelite in Villena a high level international tournament. The numbers 1 of Australia and Portugal, Alex de Miñaur and Joao Sousa, will compete alongside Pablo Carreño and great Spanish stars such as Carlos Alcaraz, Alejandro Davidovich and Mario Vilella for the title.

The tournament can be continued in Teleport from July 30 and until August 2 at 7:00 p.m. and thereafter (2 games per day). I know will dispute in group format, with the public, but with strict security protocols.

As main favorites we find the seed of each group, Pablo Carreño-Bust and Alex from Minaur. Although, Carlos Alcaraz has shown this week that he is in the box to amaze as he already did on the ATP circuit before the pandemic slowed his impressive progression at the start of the year. After having won this week in his first tournament after the break, it seems that he will continue to speak up in this tournament in which players of the highest level will be measured.

An exhibition kicked off

To inaugurate the 1st International Tournament with public after the pandemic, the JC Ferrero-Equelite Tennis Academy offered a competition in which individual and doubles matches were played with the current Davis Cup Champions Roberto Bautista and Pablo Carreño and the tennis legends Juan Carlos Ferrero and David Ferrer, with final victory for the Ferrer-Bautista couple.

The matches showed the great tennis that will be seen throughout the week, in a controlled environment: with limited capacity, Covid-19 tests carried out on all players, mandatory mask …

After the matches, which were attended by the President of the RFET Miguel Díaz and the Mayor of Villena Fulgencio Cerdán, the Tournament was officially presented with the players who will play it.
