MADRID, 22 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Río Breogán ran out of options to play European competition in this 2022-2023 season after losing this Wednesday 76-64 against the Serbian FMP Meridian in the first round of their qualifying tournament for access to the FIBA Champions League.
The team from Lugo had a complicated first game as they faced the host team of this qualifying tournament that has an emblematic venue in the world of basketball such as the Sala Pionir in Belgrade.
Veljko Mrsic’s team suffered in attack, but still kept their chances at the end of the first two quarters (32-34). El Breogán tried to hold on, but conceded 7-0 at 60-56 and saw their chances of victory slip away.
For its part, Unicaja, qualified for the semifinals of its qualifying tournament that will also play at the Martín Carpena, met its rival, the Dutch Heroes Den Bosch, who defeated Lithuanian Siaulia 85-73 and will face the Malaga team this Friday.
