Rafa Nadal turns 34 years away from Roland Garros

Rafa Nadal turns 34 this Wednesday in an atypical celebration for him because of the coronavirus pandemic, that has forced him to spend more than two months confined in his house in Manacor during the hiatus of the tennis season.

Thus Nadal will not be able to repeat a photo that had already become a tradition: that of blowing out the candles every June 3 at the Roland Garros site, where he has celebrated his birthday in 13 of the last 15 editions of the tournament.

And is that the fact that Nadal celebrated his birthday at Roland Garros has been a talisman for the Balearic, since 12 of the 13 times that Nadal has celebrated his birthday in Paris, he has won the title. The only time he failed was in 2015, when Novak Djokovic defeated him in the quarterfinals precisely on June 3.

This year Nadal will not be able to blow out his 34th birthday candles in Paris. Despite this, the Balearic wanted to share this moment with some of the boys who train at the Rafa Nadal Academy who have sung him the 'Happy Birthday' and they have presented him with a cake with his characteristic logo.

Surely one of his wishes will be to lift his thirteenth Roland Garros title and match Federer's 20 Grand Slam … although for this he will have to wait until September, when Nadal returns to Paris clay.
