Prandelli thinks about the return of 'Batigol' for his Fiorentina

331 games, 203 goals, a promotion in 1994, a Cup in 96 and a Super Cup in 96/97. These are the achievements of Gabriel Omar Batistuta with Fiorentina that earned him a golden letter in the history of viola. He was at the Artemio Franchi since he arrived from Boca Juniors in 1991 until 2000, when he headed to Rome. Now, Prandelli has reopened the doors of Italy to the Punta de Reconquista.

In his presentation, the new coach of the La Toscana team assured that he would be evaluating the arrival of the Argentine to be part of his staff helping his forwards. “I will speak with him later. For me, it can be an added value and it would be nice to have him as a collaborator to train our forwards,” he said without putting a date on when that collaboration could begin, which, he assured, “at this time it is not possible.”

The future could be turned to viola for 'Batigol'. Prandelli assured that “it is an opportunity that they have in consideration”. Everything will also depend on whether Orzinuovi's coach continues to lead the squad or not.

For now the club has turned to an old man known as Cesare (from 05/06 to 09/10) with whom he lived better times, with consecutive European rankings. Now, the goal is more humble: to achieve permanence. Fiorentina is in 12th place in Calcio with eight points on their locker, three behind Genoa, which marks the decline with five. The viola have won two, tied another two and lost the remaining three and have a negative goal balance (10 scored for 12 conceded). Figures that, in the more or less recent future, Batistuta will have to work to change.
