Point guard Chris Jones renews with Valencia Basket until 2026

BARCELONA, 23 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The American player Chris Jones renewed this Thursday with Valencia Basket until 2026, so the 1.88-meter, 29-year-old point guard will continue to wear the ‘taronja’ shirt for the next three seasons.

“Valencia Basket has reached an agreement with the North American point guard with an Armenian passport Chris Jones (1.88m, Garland (Texas), 04/10/1993, 29 years old) to extend the contract that unites him with the Taronja entity for three more seasons, until June 30, 2026,” the club announced.

In his first season as a ‘taronja’ player, Jones is the top scorer and the team’s most valued player in the Euroleague (14.2 points, 2.3 rebounds, 4.6 assists and an average efficiency of 16), his best figures in the maximum continental competition.

In the Endesa League, the point guard’s numbers are 12.1 points –with 42.9 percent on three-pointers–, 1.9 rebounds and 4.8 assists for an average rating of 13.3.

In addition, the club highlights that beyond his “spectacular statistics”, Chris Jones has won over the ‘Taronja Family’ with his personality and his quality to decide tight matches.

After training in the NCAA in the United States and several steps already taken in Europe, it was Maccabi Tel Aviv who gave him his first opportunity in the Euroleague and, at LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne, he established himself as one of the best point guards in the competition.
