Less than a year after the disaffiliation of the Red Sharks of Veracruz from Liga MX, due to the debts that the club had, professional football will be back in Puerto Jarocho with two teams, although this time it will be in the nascent Mexican Football League (LBM).

Through its official Twitter account, the LBM announced this Thursday and Friday that it will have the Veracruzano Shark Football Club and the Athletic Club Veracruz in its first tournament, which would begin next September in the face of current sanitary measures due to the pandemic of coronavirus (COVID-19) that lashes the country.

The news caught fans by surprise; even, many took with humor that finally there will be a "derby jarocho" Although it is also expected that the Orizaba franchise be renewed in order to have a third team in the region.

In this way, the controversial PRI businessman and politician Fidel Kuri Grajales, former owner of the disappeared Red Sharks, would return to the soccer industry under the supervision of two of his lawyers, who will be as presidents of the Veracruzano Shark Soccer Club.

The new identity of the club appeared with a redesigned shield, which shows the classic blue and red colors, in addition to a shark and behind the silhouette of the pyramid of the archaeological zone of El Tajín.

“We understand the meaning of adopting the red-blue colors. We assume the responsibility of calling ourselves Sharks and admit the duty of what it means to represent the city ”, were the words that the club mentioned in its welcome.
