The Spanish pivot Pau Gasol has been left out of the list of the 75 best historical players in the NBA, drawn up for the 75th anniversary of the competition.

The league kept the 50 players it announced in 1996, when it carried out a similar initiative for its half century, and added 26 new players – there was a tie -, 11 of them active: Giannis Antetokounmpo, Carmelo Anthony, Stephen Curry, Anthony Davis, Kevin Durant, James Harden, LeBron James, Kawhi Leonard, Damian Lillard, Chris Paul, and Russell Westbrook.

In addition, 15 retired players also joined: Jason Kidd, Dirk Nowitzki, Steve Nash, Reggie Miller, Paul Pierce, Tim Duncan, Kobe Bryant, Ray Allen, Bob McAdoo, Dominique Wilkins, Kevin Garnett, Allen Iverson, Gary Payton, Dwyane Wade and Dennis Rodman.

The list of the 75 greatest players in NBA history was compiled by a panel of members of the media, former players, current players, coaches and team executives.
