More than 7,000 spectators in the duel between Bayern and Schalke 04

The match between Bayern and the Schalke 04, which will open this Friday the Bundesliga, will be played before a maximum of 7,500 spectators after a compromise reached by the Bavarian club with the regional authorities.

The German Länder had reached an agreement according to which the parties of the Bundesliga they could be played with up to 20 percent of the stadium capacity, as long as the evolution of the pandemic allowed it.

That possibility loses its force if a city has an average of more than 35 daily COVID-19 infections per 100,000 inhabitants in the course of a week.

In MunichAccording to the Robert Koch Institute of Virology (RKI) there are currently 34 infections per 100,000 inhabitants, but local health authorities have other figures and speak of 45 infections per 100,000 inhabitants.

The 7,500 spectators are approximately 10 percent of the capacity of the Allianz Arena, that is to say half of what the general rule would allow.
