Mirandés frustrates the ‘Playoff’ for Cartagena and touches the safety zone

MADRID, 21 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Mirandés continues to approach the places of salvation after beating Cartagena (2-1) this Monday, in the last game of the sixteenth day of LaLiga SmartBank, which with this result falls out of the ‘Playoff’ zone.

After a goalless first half, the controversy was served at the beginning of the second half when the referee ordered a penalty and expulsion after Jairo Izquierdo took the ball out tripping over the support foot of a Mirandés player. The referee rectified it and turned the red card into yellow, but sent the maximum penalty, allowing Roberto López to put the locals ahead (min.57).

Barbu, already at 71, increased the income of Anduva’s men after a set piece, who only saw the result in danger in the discount with the 2-1 of the Albanian Armando Sadiku in the 94th minute.

In this way, the Mirandés links six consecutive days adding and reaches 16 units, to one of the permanence positions. For its part, ‘Efesé’ interrupts a three-game scoring streak and is left with 25 points, the same points that mark the promotion zone.
