Meunier charges against PSG: “They wanted me to play for free”

Thomas Meunier would have refused to extend his contract to continue playing for Paris Saint-Germain on June 30, just as Cavani did. The winger ended and went to Borussia Dortmund, who then left the door so that the Belgian could return to play the Champions League with the Parisians. Something that seems really complicated.

The side is in limbo. Dortmund has already finished its season and although it could return to PSG, it does not seem likely since it is in an open war with the whole of the French capital, which has not allowed it to agree to train. In addition, the French club refused to meet the conditions set by both the player and Dortmund. Meunier himself claims that Leonardo did not even try to negotiate and that he wanted him back almost at all costs.

“Leonardo never tried to reach an agreement with Dortmund, much less with me. He wanted him to go to PSG practically for free”, he assures in addition to adding that they did not let him enter to train once everything was announced. “They told me on the phone not to meet anyone because I could tell stories that would cause problems. Typical case of loss of reality. Leonardo told the press in France that I refused to extend the contract but it is not true and I want it to remain of course, “he said in an interview with the German news agency DPA.

From the German club, Watzke left the door open but PSG seem to face the Champions League without Meunier. The Belgian had played full five of the eight games that PSG has played in this competition scoring a goal in the debut against Real Madrid. Now, the Paris squad will have to face Atalanta in the quarterfinals in the final phase that will be played in Lisbon in August.
