Marc Márquez: “I’ve been able to ride the way I want and really get the most out of the Honda”

MADRID, 1 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish MotoGP rider Marc Márquez (Repsol Honda) celebrated this Saturday having been able to “ride” as he wants and having “really squeezed the Honda” in qualifying for the Thai Grand Prix, the seventeenth round of the World Championship and which takes place on the International Circuit of Chang, in Burinam.

“The final result is a little less than what we intended today, but we have to look at the positive aspects: I have been able to start riding as I want and I have been able to really squeeze the Honda,” applauded the man from Cervera in statements provided by his team.

The Catalan had “a compromised situation” in qualifying that “ruined” his “best lap”. “But we know what is happening and how we can solve it,” advanced Márquez, who regretted having had another “scare” in the third free practice, in the last corner, which forced him to go through Q1.

“But we continue to gain experience and test ourselves more and more. Tomorrow’s race will be interesting, we need a good start to recover some positions, because although our pace is good, overtaking can be complicated”, analyzed the eight-time world champion, who will start eighth at the start in Thailand.

POL ESPARGARÓ: “IT HASN’T BEEN EASY, BUT WE’RE NOT GOING TO GIVE UP”

For his part, his partner, Pol Espargaró, admitted that he had “problems” this Saturday that they are “working to solve.” “It’s clear that it hasn’t been an easy weekend, but we’re not going to give up, I’ll keep trying every time I get on the bike. Tomorrow will be a very long race, both dry and wet, so there are many possibilities We’ll see what happens when the traffic lights go out”, settled the Spanish driver, who will start nineteenth in Burinam this Sunday.
