Manchester City knocks Arsenal out of the FA Cup

MADRID, 27 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Manchester City beat Arsenal (1-0) this Friday in the fourth round of the FA Cup and reached the round of 16 thanks to a solitary goal from defender Nathan Aké in the 64th minute.

Pep Guardiola’s team eliminated Mikel Arteta’s from the oldest tournament in the world, both rivals for the Premier this season with favoritism for the Londoners due to their five-point lead with one game less. At the Etihad Stadium, the Manchester team put together a more recognizable eleven and was always closer to victory.

All in all, the best chances in the first half were for Arsenal, stopped by goalkeeper Stefan Ortega, with some local scare from a Haaland who did not have his most successful day and another from De Bruyne. In the second half, City tilted the field with better pressure and thus it was 1-0.

After a shot at the post by world champion Julián Álvarez, Ake finished off the second play with a pass into the net to add the goal to his great game in defense. After eliminating Chelsea, City realizes the ‘gunner’ team, which will focus on the attempt to win the English league 19 years later.
