Malaga dismisses coach José Alberto López

The technician of Málaga, from LaLiga SmartBank, Joseph Albert Lopez, has been removed from his duties and will be the coach of the Atletico Malaga, which plays in the Third Division, John Francis Funes, who will provisionally take charge of the blue and white team until the new substitute arrives, as announced by the Malaga club on Monday.

The decision adopted by the Malaguista entity was communicated this afternoon to José Alberto López, precipitated by the extensive defeat suffered in last day’s match, where Málaga lost to Ibiza (0-5) in the stadium The Rose Garden.

“The entity has determined to put an end to the contractual relationship that united it with the coach José Alberto López,” said the statement from the Málaga, because “the club has been forced to take this measure in search of a change in the dynamics of the team with the aim of improving sports results”, although it recognizes the work of the dismissed coach together with his assistants Paul Alvarez Y Peter Garcia, and thanks them “for their commitment and professionalism”.

Joseph Albert Lopez, who arrived at Malaga this season from Mirandés, has managed the malaguista team in 24 league games with a balance of eight wins, seven draws and nine losses, and leaves the team fourteenth in the standings with 31 points.
