Lucas Eguibar and Regino Hernández debut at the SBX World Cup in China

The riders Lucas Eguibar, world champion, and Regino Hernández, bronze in the PyeongChang Games, will debut this weekend in the first round of the FIS Snowboard Cross World Cup, which will be held at the Chinese station of Secret Garden, the same circuit of the Beijing’22 Olympic Games next February.

The first tests of the Snowboardcross World Cup (SBX) will be held this Friday and the 28th, the heats and finals at the Secret Garden station.

Apart from Lucas Eguibar (NKEF-DALTON) and Regino Hernández (FADI Andalucía-SNTER), silver for teams together with Lucas in the Sierra Nevada 2017 World Cups, the young Basque Álvaro Romero, only 18 years old, bronze in the FIS Junior Snowboardcross World Championships in Krasnoyarsk (Russia).

According to its coach, Alex Martín, the entire team has adapted very well to the circuit and are ready to face qualifying this Friday. Regarding the circuit drawn up at the Secret Garden station for this coming weekend, the RFEDI team technician has affirmed that, due to being at very early dates, there is little natural snow and that the technicians are working on the production of snow to have the circuit ready.

After this inaugural event of the Snowboardcross World Cup, the second one will take place, from December 9 to 11, at the Austrian WC Montafon station.
