The Unión Deportiva Ibiza confirmed this Monday the arrival of Lucas Alcaraz as the new coach of the current bottom team in LaLiga SmartBank, with whom he has signed for the remainder of this season and with the option of one more.

The 56-year-old coach from Granada arrives to fill the gap left by Juan Antonio Anquela, dismissed last week, and becomes the third tenant on the bench for the Balearic team this season since Javi Baraja was in charge of starting it.

Alcaraz has extensive experience in Spanish football as he has led Granada CF, Racing de Santander, Recreativo de Huelva, with whom he was runner-up in the Copa del Rey in 2003, Levante UD, Almería, Albacete and Zaragoza, among others. and accumulates 273 matches in the First Division and 195 in the Second. The Andalusian, who returns to Spain two years later after being fired from Albacete, had been without a team since last February, when he was dismissed from Cypriot Olympiakos Nicosia.
