Lozano reveals the list of 11 members of the Spanish boxing team for the Paris 2024 qualifiers

MADRID, 27 May. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The technical director of the Royal Spanish Boxing Federation (RFEB), Rafael Lozano Muñoz, has revealed this Saturday the list of the 11 athletes of the national team for the qualifiers that will take place next June for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

For that close summer appointment, Rafael Lozano has made a call for men with the following names: in the 51 kg category, Martin Molina Salvador; in 57 kg, José Quiles Brotons; in 63 kg, Adrián Thiam Creus; in 71 kg, Youba Sissokho Ndiaye; in 80 kg, Gazimagomed Schamilovich Jalidov Gafurova; in 92 kg, Enmanuel Reyes Pla, and in +92 kg, Ayoub Ghadfa Drissi El Aissaoui.

They will be joined, in those qualifiers during the European Games to be held in Krakow (Poland), a women’s team made up of: in the 50 kg category, Laura Fuertes Fernández; in 54 kg, María del Carmen Romero Molina; in 57 kg, Jennifer Fernández Romero, and in 60 kg, Nayara Arroyo Rodríguez.

“It is a pity that in order to achieve equality between the weights of women and men, there is a lack of equity, since the cut directly affects male boxers. Since this weight cut has occurred, as technical director I have had to make decisions very hard, like leaving out boxers of great international entity”, Lozano told the media of the Spanish Federation itself.

“Even so, I am sure that with the selected team we will achieve great results as each boxer is demonstrating to date with their individual achievements, which have already made history for our country. In my opinion, they should have increased the female categories without harming the men, just like they did in the recent World Cup”, argued the Spain coach.

“However, we continue to have a very experienced team with all the guarantees to qualify in the different weight categories,” Lozano concluded. Meanwhile, Felipe Martínez Martínez has expressed that his “confidence” in the team that will go to Krakow “is total” because he “has already made history for Spanish boxing.”

“The international results that this team of men and women have already treasured have never been achieved before. With Rafael Lozano and his technical team at the forefront, I am sure that they will give us even more victories for national boxing,” he finally assured. the president of the Spanish Federation.
