Loïc Remy finds new team in Turkey

French footballer Loïc Remy, former player of Chelsea, he Getafe and Las Palmas, among others, has signed this Friday for the Rizespor Turkish, the club announced on Friday on its website.

The 33-year-old striker arrived in Istanbul yesterday and this Friday signed the contract with those responsible for Rizespor in a hotel in the city of the Bosphorus.

The player added that before arriving in Turkey he had consulted with his colleagues Zeki Çelik and Yusuf Yazici, two Turkish players from Lille, where Remy has played last season.

He added that he had negotiated with several Turkish teams, including the Fenerbahçe, before deciding on Rizespor, based in Rize, a city of 150,000 inhabitants on the Black Sea coast, a thousand kilometers east of Istanbul and a hundred from the border with Georgia.

Rizespor finished 15th in the Turkish Super League this year, a result close to the norm in recent years.
