Leclerc wins a tight pole in Singapore

MADRID, 1 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Monegasque driver Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) will start from pole this Sunday in the Singapore Grand Prix race, the seventeenth round of the Formula 1 World Championship, ahead of the Mexican Sergio Pérez (Red Bull) and the British Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes), while the Spanish Carlos Sainz (Ferrari) and Fernando Alonso (Alpine) will start fourth and fifth, respectively, in a session marked by the changing conditions of the track due to the rain prior to the three qualifying rounds.

With a time of 1:49.412, Leclerc guaranteed himself the first position in a session in which until Q3 they could not use the soft tires due to the changing conditions on a track, with sections still somewhat wet due to the deluge during the third practice Free in Thailand.

The leader of the World Championship, Max Verstappen, could only be eighth after not being able to complete his last lap, while Alonso, who came first in Q3, will start fifth and Carlos Sainz managed to secure a fourth place.
