Las Palmas takes three points of leadership against Huesca

The canaries take advantage of Eibar’s tie with Leganés

MADRID, 28 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) –

UD Las Palmas beat Huesca (1-0) at the end of Saturday on matchday 25 of LaLiga SmartBank to take the lead, taking advantage of the draw shortly before Eibar against Leganés (0-0).

The Canarian team took three points to storm the head thanks to Curbelo’s goal at the start of the second half, which caught Huesca cold, who defended themselves tooth and nail. Las Palmas controlled the game and a victory that makes them add 48 points.

Eibar stayed with 47, giving up the lead in Second, after suffering the battle of a ‘Lega’ that continues with its cover plan without stopping looking at the ‘Top 6’. Garitano’s men could not end January with full victories, although they remain undefeated at home, while Idiakez’s added their second consecutive draw, after the one harvested last day against Levante (2-2).

Although the armored team gained control of the ball from the outset and even threatened Asier Riesgo’s goal in the first half through Bautista and Corpas, it was Leganés who had the clearest chance with Nyom’s shot to the crossbar at the end of the second half.

For their part, Granada beat Andorra (2-0) at the Nuevo Los Cármenes stadium to stay in the fight for the ‘play offs’. Uzuni’s double in the early stages of the first half gave credit to a Nasrid team that went from more to less. The Albanian striker gave a recital in fifteen minutes: first he took advantage of a good ball filtered from Callejón into the space between the two central defenders and scored, three minutes later he picked up another gift from the former Real Madrid player and signed the second on his personal account.

From there, Paco López’s men reduced the intensity and their game to the benefit of an Andorra that began to dominate but without a goal. Although in the second half they tried, even more if possible, the figure of Raúl Fernández became great to avoid the visitors’ goals, which added their third consecutive defeat and stopped their aspirations to get closer to the top positions.

Villarreal B stormed the Carlos Tartiere on their visit to Oviedo thanks to a solitary goal by Fer Niño in the 8th minute. The ‘groguet’ attacker headed a good ball into Romero’s area to put an end to the local unbeaten record for the Carbayones since October and sign the second consecutive victory for Miguel Álvarez’s team.

The team led by Álvaro Cervera, who had chances to tie, ran into the visiting goalkeeper at all times who brought out his entire repertoire, stopping even with his face. Those from Castellón, who continue with their particular climb, are already ninth, while the Asturians, fifteenth, continue to flirt with the relegation places.
