LaLiga celebrates the success of the II Week against Racism

MADRID, 21 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) –

LaLiga brings to an end this Tuesday, the World Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, the II Week of LaLiga Against Racism, an initiative launched by EA SPORTSTM and which seeks to raise awareness of the importance of people coming together to stop racism inside and outside the soccer fields.

During the last seven days, numerous actions have been carried out, such as those carried out by the clubs last day, posing with commemorative shirts created for the occasion or with toblerones on which the word ‘Unity’ was read.

The captains, on their armbands, also wore the image of the initiative, which could also be seen in other activations such as LEDs, 3D carpets or the virtualized image of ‘Unity’ that could be seen in the Clásico on the Camp Nou during the broadcast.

In the fields, awareness messages were heard from the public address system of the clubs and they were read on the video scoreboards. In addition, the clubs themselves have been sharing videos with motivational messages from their players through different channels, encouraging the fans to join the initiative.

The LaLiga and EA SPORTSTM initiative was also present at FIFA 23, where players could select this commemorative and awareness-raising kit for their teams. In fact, they will be able to do so until the end of the season. On social networks, the videos of the initiative generated more than 13 million views, and the contents had 33 million impressions.

“This project is just one more piece of LaLiga’s puzzle to stop racism. LaLiga works permanently to identify and report any type of racist chant or possible hate crime that occurs inside and outside football stadiums professional for several seasons and, in addition, he appears as a private prosecution in those in which it is legally possible”, highlights LaLiga.

LaLiga has also set up an email and a Telegram channel for fans to contact and facilitate the identification and reporting of those who engage in racist behavior. These channels are the email [email protected] and the Telegram channel StopRacismoLaLiga.
