La Primera Iberdrola slows down: 12 postponements in three days

The start of the First Iberdrola in 2021 has been led by the suspensions of matches, either because of the storm Filomena or because of COVID-19. Despite the fact that two of the duels that were postponed have already been played, these first weeks of the year They have settled with twelve postponements in three days and two more suspensions have already been communicated for the next day (There would be 14 in total). Among the most affected teams would be Barça or Real Madrid, who have only played one of the three planned league games.

The Barça team is the one that most worries the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), since It has already accumulated four postponements, being the one that has played the fewest matches in the Primera Iberdrola. This fact has not prevented him from being a solo leader, with an impeccable start without defeats or draws in the top competition. The problem for Barça is not to play these duels, it is when to play them, with a very complicated schedule (final of the previous year's Cup, Cup, Champions and League).

At the moment, from the federative entity they consider that there is margin to recover all the meetings, but the situation gets complicated at times. Barça, who recovered the first of their postponed games this season last Wednesday, with a 7-0 loss against Rayo Vallecano, has dated one of his four suspensions for February 3 (Levante).

This next week it would be impossible to play any of the pending ones because there are days during the week and the Catalan team will play the final of the Cup against Logroño on the weekend of February 13 and 14. After those dates, A FIFA break is coming and then there will be weeks with Champions League matches (Barça and Atlético are in the eighth), Cup and weekdays, with several gaps to dispute the duels that have remained behind. A situation that will leave two games a week almost systematically for Barça.
