Junior and Club de Campo will play the final of the Copa de la Reina

Junior FC and the Country Club will play this Sunday in Barcelona the final of the Iberdrola Queen’s Cup 2021, repeating that of last year in Valencia, after beating Club Egara this Saturday in the semifinals of the tournament (1-2) and UD Taburiente (2-1), respectively.

In the first of the semifinals, Junior began dominating and was able to open the can very soon, in a shot by Carola Salvatella that was cleared by Natalia Salvador, who also successfully defended the initial penalty executed by the ‘ratllades’. Mariona Girabent offered the reply by disrupting two clear chances by Júlia Strapatto and Laura Bosch. However, in the final play of the opening period, Mariona Serrahima opened the scoring for Eduardo Dualde (minute 17).

After the break, those from Sant Cugat del Vallés increased the distance in a shot by Laia Vidosa (min.46), to which Marta Grau responded two minutes later to get closer to the light (min.48). Despite all of them, Terrassa’s team was not able to surprise the reigning champions.

Meanwhile, the Country Club managed to win an even match against UD Taburiente in the first half, without great chances. Already in the second act, the islands went ahead with a corner penalty that Agustina Gorzaleny materialized (min.22).

In the resumption, Begoña García (min.37) managed to tie for the Madrilenians, who sealed the comeback in the last play of this set, an action between Beatriz Pérez and Candela Mejías in which the Cantabrian scored the second goal (min.52 ).

The Catalans and Madrid women will face each other again this Sunday (11.00 am / Teledeporte) in the Cup final, after last year in Valencia they were the first to win the title.
