The former player of the Atlético de Madrid and the Spanish team, Juanfran Torres placeholder image, will have a futsal team in Crevillent thanks to the agreement between the town council, its Department of Sports and the CF Intercity.

The club, which will compete in the hometown of Juanfran Torres, will be called CF Intercity Crevillent Futsal, as reported by CF Intercity, a recently founded group that is active in the RFEF Second Division.

The Alicante club wanted to thank Jose Manuel Penalva, Mayor of Crevillent, and Marcelino Gimenez, mayor of Sports, who has “opened the doors of his town and trust in this ambitious futsal project that Juanfran Torres creates from a passion for sports and love for his land.”

The former Spanish international was already linked to CF Intercity for months, since he became one of the investor shareholders of the entity, a pioneer in Spanish football as it was in the process of going to the stock market.

The team will begin to compete in Primera Regional and his objective, according to the club, will be “to ascend and reach the highest categories” of the competition.

“I am very happy for this union between the sport of Crevillent and CF Intercity. That futsal returns to Crevillent is something extraordinary for all Crevillentinos and I am convinced that this joint project will benefit and help both parties ”, affirmed the Crevillentino.
