The Spanish MotoGP rider Jorge Martín (Ducati) has assured that he wants to “enjoy the moment”, which is the “best” of his career, and focus on being ahead in each training session and in each Grand Prix without thinking too much about the fight for the title, although he is second only 13 points behind Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati).

“I feel the same as I did a few races ago. I feel like I have to enjoy the best moment of my career, and enjoy getting good results and trying to win races and be ahead in training. You have to enjoy yourself and the rest will take care of itself” , he stated at a press conference.

Martín arrives in Motegi, for the Japanese Grand Prix, after winning the Sprint of the previous event in India and being second, behind Marco Bezzecchi (Ducati), in the long race on Sunday. Cutting points from his biggest rival in the Championship.

“I approach this Grand Prix with a lot of confidence because I have the best possible package on the bike. I got my first podium in Moto2 here and it is important, last year I was third,” he said, celebrating arriving at Motegi.

In this sense, the Spaniard aimed for a third consecutive podium in the Japanese event. “The last two times I have been on the podium and I am confident. I hope to continue in good shape and be on the podium again,” he predicted.

Regarding the post-race incident in India, when he felt unwell and dehydrated, he explained what it was like. “I feel physically strong, something happened to me and it seems that I became dehydrated, it was complicated but the doctors told me that I was fine and after about five hours, I recovered,” he added.

“On the last lap, when I was trying to recover position, the bike closed in front of me. When I recovered, there was Fabio who overtook me but he went just long enough to enter him on the inside. It was one of the best overtaking of my life But I didn’t enjoy it, I went quickly to the box because I knew something was happening to me,” he said.
