It’s John The 2022/23 pre-season has started as the 2021/22 season ended, scoring goals, since the man from Malaga was the author of the last two of the Real Betis last season (both against Granada on matchday 37) and the first of this hot summer against PSV. “Happy to score the first goal, it’s important to get a feel for it. We finished the year quite well and now we’re picking up the pace to face an exciting start to the League”, he declared It’s John in an interview with RTV Betis. “It’s good to score even in training, it gives the striker confidence to continue doing the job. Hopefully they can keep scoring goals”, he added It’s John.
The forward from Coín explained how the pre-season work is going: “We are in the process of recovering our physical tone. I think the group is in a very good mentality. We have a very exciting year. Last year we realized that we can be there. We have to continue in the line of work and hopefully we can extend and improve what we did last year”.
“I hope to match or exceed last year”
It’s John is clear about his goals for next season: “Every player is ambitious. When you manage to have a great year, the key was the continuity that I didn’t have before due to the injury, with continuity things turn out better and this year I hope to match or exceed last year”.
The Betis will play a new friendly this Wednesday, against Olympic Marseille. The striker hopes “that the preparation games will help us to give that last touch to arrive as prepared as possible. The games that remain are of a high level and will put us to the test for what lies ahead this year.”
