It was signing the divorce and letting down her hair. Infanta Cristina shelves her marriage to Iñaki Urdangarin and the pain it took to end it to recover her smile and enjoy her best plans alongside her unconditional friends. Last weekend, the second daughter of the emeritus flew to Las Palmas, where Alexia from Greece was waiting for her, to experience first-hand the fun carnivals of the island.
Dressed in blue and with her hair tied up in an informal ponytail, Doña Cristina enjoyed the parade of groups on Albareda Street with her cousin and her husband, Carlos Morales. They chatted and commented on the costumes and dances, recorded with their mobile phones and even took selfies with neighbors who recognized the infanta.
The daughter of Constantine and Ana María de Grecia has become one of Cristina's fundamental pillars. Their friendship strengthened during her adolescence and youth, to such an extent that the Greek settled in Barcelona to be closer to her friend. Here she met the Canarian architect Carlos Morales, whom she married in London in 1999. They have four children, Arrietta, Ana María, Carlos and Amelia, and they live in Lanzarote.
The divorce of the infanta
Doña Cristina and Iñaki Urdangarin ended their marriage last January 2022 after the publication of some images in which the royal son-in-law appeared in a very affectionate attitude with his co-worker, Ainhoa Armentia. Their divorce did not come until last December, after a long period of conversations and negotiations with many conditions on the table. They also hoped that the youngest of her children, Irene, would turn 18 so they would not have to discuss custody of her.
Finally, Iñaki will not receive a pension or compensation, as he initially requested.
