According to the Biscayan club, Muniain played against the ‘blue’ team in his 420th match in the domestic championship, to which we must add 61 in European competition, 54 in the Europa League and 7 in the Champions League, 56 in the Cup del Rey and 4 in the Spanish Super Cup.
The one from Txantrea reached this figure in his fifteenth season as a footballer for Athletic Club, with whom he debuted on July 30, 2009 at just 16 years old in a Europa League qualifying match against Swiss Young Boys.
The Navarrese footballer, who will turn 31 in December, will surely continue adding matches in this campaign, in which he will close the gap with the legendary goalkeeper José Ángel Iribar, who accumulated 614 matches with the Basque club.
