“If Serena Williams had any decency she would retire”

Ion Tiriac has once again charged hard against Serena Williams for her performance on the tennis courts in recent tournaments despite the fact that the American continues in her challenge to equal or exceed the 24 Grand Slam of Margaret Court (Serena has 23).

Speaking to the 'Retaua de idoli' program, Tiriac, who serves as president of the Romanian Tennis Federation, said that Serena no longer has the same ability to move on the court as several years ago. “I am not sure what is happening. And it is a mathematical work. At that age and with the weight that she has now, she does not move with the same ease as 15 years ago.”

Tiriac also surrendered to the successes that the player has achieved on the circuit, although, in his opinion, the American tennis player should consider her retirement. “Serena has been a sensational player. If she had any decency, she should retire! From all points of view.”
