Héctor Cabrera will put himself in the hands of the Spanish Paralympic Committee for the recovery of his knee

The Valencian athlete Héctor Cabrera, bronze medalist in the javelin throw of the F13 class at the Tokyo Paralympic Games, will be in the hands of the doctors of the Spanish Paralympic Committee (CPE) at the start of his rehabilitation after going through surgery for an injury to his right knee.

The one from Oliva underwent surgery for a torn ligament in the summer of 2020 and although he was able to compete in the Japanese capital and get on the podium, the CPE doctors advised him to go through the operating room again, without the rush and tension of be in the paralympic event.

The Spaniard was implanted with tissue from a donor in search of completely regenerating his mobility and elasticity, and after a first phase of rest, next week he will travel to Madrid, where, at least during the first fortnight of February, he will hands of the medical professionals of the CPE to start his return to the slopes, reported this Wednesday from his press department.

Cabrera’s goal is to arrive in the best physical condition at the World Championships in Athletics to be held in the Japanese town of Kobe, between August 26 and September 4, and where he will attend as world runner-up.
