Girona is reinforced with Real Madrid player Miguel Gutiérrez until 2027

MADRID, 5 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Left-back Miguel Gutiérrez became a new Girona player this Friday after reaching an agreement that links him until the summer of 2027 and after having said goodbye to Real Madrid, his club for more than a decade.

The Whites’ academy player, who had already made his debut with the first team in the League and in the Champions League, is leaving the Spanish capital for Girona. At 21 years old, he arrives in Montilivi to seek the minutes that he would not have had -surely- at Real Madrid and to gain experience in the First Division.

“Despite his youth, the list of winners of Miguel Gutiérrez is important. The European championship with the under-19 team and the UEFA Youth League championship with the Youth led by Raúl González stand out,” Girona said in the statement of his signing.

Real Madrid, for its part, also confirmed the goodbye of its youth squad and was very grateful for the “work, commitment and dedication” of Miguel Gutiérrez during his stay at the merengue club since 2011.

His transfer represents the seventh incorporation of Girona this summer after those of Yangel Herrera, David López, Rodrigo Riquelme, Yan Couto, Maximiliano Villa and Valentín Castellanos, in the year of return to the highest category of Spanish football.
