Getafe aims at Carrasquilla, the pearl of Panamanian football

Getafe closely follows the 22-year-old midfielder Adalberto Carrasquilla, one of the players with the most future in Panamanian football, already international with the absolute of his country, who currently plays in the ranks of Cartagena in the Second Division. The young promise was followed by several First and Second clubs in recent months. Real Madrid was even exploring the possibility of incorporating him into the ranks of Castilla for last season. It is a medium that can perform in the position of 8 or 6, with very good ball and physical treatment.

Carrasquilla's adaptation to Spanish football has been meteoric since he arrived on loan to Cartagena from Tauro FC and was important for the promotion in the category. The Albinegro club bet heavily on him, and took over his property rights in December 2019. The Gatefe carefully follows their evolutions, in the center of the field there is no excess of troops. The medium that Bordalás has on loan from City, Palaversa, has only played a few minutes and will presumably return with Guardiola in January. The price of Carrasquilla would be around two million. The crisis meant that Getafe was nourished at the beginning of the season essentially on loans and that they only paid nine million for striker Ünal.

This season Carrasquilla has played 15 games in the Second Division, in which he has scored a goal and given an assist. He is being one of the fundamental men, once again, of the black and white team. Before Cartagena recruited him, he was trying, at the age of 16, at Espanyol B and, at that time, Barcelona was also interested in his incorporation. He made his debut with the absolute of Panama with 18 years just turned. The First Division seems to be his next destination.
