MADRID, 2 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The president of the Higher Sports Council (CSD), José Manuel Franco, will attend this Saturday the final of the women’s Champions League between FC Barcelona and Wolfsburg, starting at 4:00 p.m. (peninsular time) in Eindhoven , and in which he trusts that the Catalans will put the “culmination of another brilliant course”.

“FC Barcelona is leading a dream period, at the hands of players who are already part of the history of this sport. As a football fan and as Secretary of State for Sport, it will be a real pleasure to accompany the Barça team in Eindhoven “, assured the president of the CSD.

José Manuel Franco expressed his hope that the Catalans, who will play their fourth final in this competition in five years, return to Barcelona with another trophy. “I am confident that Barça can offer Spanish women’s football this second ‘Champions’, so deserved and desired, and that it will be the culmination of another brilliant course”, he added.

In the 2018-19 and 2021-22 seasons, FC Barcelona was runner-up, after losing both finals against Olympique de Lyon. The only continental title for Spanish women’s football at the club level occurred in the 2020-21 season. Then FC Barcelona thrashed Chelsea (4-0) in Gothenburg.
