Formula 1 works for the return to the World Championship of the German GP

SPA-FRANCORCHAMPS (BELGIUM), 28 Aug. (dpa/EP) –

The president of Formula 1, Stefano Domenicali, positively valued a possible return of the German Grand Prix to the World Cup calendar, assuring that they are “working to find a solution”.

“I would love to. We are working to see if we can find a solution. There are many, many requests at the moment, it is impressive,” the Italian told Sky television before Sunday’s race at Spa.

The Hockenheimring circuit last hosted a Formula 1 race in 2019. The Nürburgring also hosted one in 2020, when the coronavirus pandemic caused calendar cancellations.

In addition, the ‘Grand Circus’ announced this Sunday that the Belgian circuit of Spa-Francorchamps will also be part of the World Cup in 2023. The organizers invested in the traditional Belgian circuit and remodeled it for this season, but the layout in the Ardennes region was a candidate for cancellation.
