Figo responds to Rivaldo's praise for Luxembourg: “For me it was the worst ever”

Palmeiras beat Corinthians this Saturday in the final of the Paulista Championship, thus achieving his twenty-third title in the state of Sao Paulo. The architect of the success has been coach Vanderlei Luxemburg. Rivaldo, Former Palmeiras, Barcelona and Deportivo player, he was one of the first to use his social networks to congratulate his former team, but especially Luxembourg: “Congratulations, Palmeiras, for the title more than deserved. I had great coaches, but you were the best. Everything that Europe's coaches do today, you did 25 years ago. You are the best”. These praises of Rivaldo have found a totally opposite response from Luis Figo: “Fiera, for me, it was the worst ever.”

Figo blames his departure from Madrid on Vanderlei Luxemburg, who stopped having him in his schemes. In the summer of 2005, when he still had one year left on his contract with the white club, the Portuguese left Madrid to go to Inter. The ex-footballer still remembers how badly he had it at the white club under the orders of the Brazilian coach, whom he has repeatedly criticized publicly. On this occasion, he has taken advantage of Rivaldo's praise for the coach to once again make clear his animosity towards him.
