Feliciano López, Munar, Haas and Brown will star in the match for peace in Ukraine at the Mallorca Championships

The Spanish tennis player Feliciano López and the German Tommy Haas will be the star players of the exhibition prior to the start of the Mallorca Championships on June 17 at 7:30 p.m., a meeting for peace in Ukraine, which will also feature the local tennis player Jaume Munar and Jamaican Dustin Brown.

“Aware of the situation that the Ukrainian people are suffering at this time, we did not want to look the other way and everything raised from the purchase of tickets and donations made will go directly to Ukraine,” the organizer of the ATP 250 event explained on Wednesday in a statement.

The initiative will be channeled through ‘Tennis Plays for Peace’, created by the ATP in conjunction with the WTA, ITF and the four ‘Grand Slams’ in order to raise funds and aid for the Ukrainian people. Among the protagonists, the presence of Feliciano López, champion on grass in Queens’19 and with more than 500 ATP victories; Tommy Haas, former number 2 in the ranking; the local player Jaume Munar and number 75 in the ranking, and the Jamaican Dustin Brown.

The exhibition match will be the prelude to the tournament that begins on Saturday and in which the Russian Daniil Medvedev, the current defender of the title, will arrive in Mallorca as number 1 in the world. Some of the best rackets on the circuit will also be present, such as the Australian Nick Kyrgios or the Spanish tennis players Pablo Carreño or Roberto Bautista.
